PROGRAM

How your voice sounds in terms of volume, pitch, and pacing, has a tremendous impact on your audience and their willingness to follow your message. How you gesture and move about the room, your posture, and facial expressions, all play a part in keeping your audience engaged and respectful.   From an audience perspective, your voice inflection, facial expressions, and body language can make up over 90% of your message.

When you conduct professional business presentations, many factors are outside of your control, such as equipment breakdowns, audience attitudes, or outside interferences like weather or room temperature. Two areas of which you can be in command are: (1) the way you sound and (2) the way you conduct yourself in your presentations.

In this workshop, you will look at the elements that make up your visual and vocal image. You will explore methods that are entirely within your abilities to become more professional, dynamic, and interesting.  Engage with your fellow ATD colleagues, while you tune and tone your visual and vocal image!

Using a facilitated questioning process and lively table exercises the group will explore positive methods to make their vocal and visual image more impactful for their audiences.

Each participant will receive a hand-out and the Dale Carnegie Golden Book.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. List the ways an audience forms impressions of you based on your voice and body language
  2. Improve gestures, posture, and movement to impact presentations
  3. Analyze physical appearance and voice factors that influence audience perceptions
