A Speed Networking Extravaganza

You’ve heard of speed dating – now get ready for speed networking! Like most chapter members, you probably consider the opportunity to network a key reason to join ASTD. But chapter meetings devoted to other great topics often leave little time for building your network. This month’s meeting is devoted to nothing else! A few lightning activities will focus on the benefits and perils of networking.  Then we’ll launch into a speed networking event that will connect you with an amazing number of other attendees. You’ll leave the meeting with a whole new outlook on networking, and a whole new list of great contacts! Be sure to bring business cards if you have them, or even simple slips of paper with your contact information to share.

About Our Presenters:

Peggy Page is a learning facilitator and instructional designer with over thirty years experience in several industries. She has a Masters degree in Adult Learning from the University of Southern Maine and has presented on various learning topics at local, regional and national ASTD conferences. She is also Past President of the Maine chapter of ASTD. She currently manages a talented group of ten instructional designers - the Learning Solutions Team at TD Bank. Peggy lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Fran Liautaud is a Communication and Leadership Coach, supporting business leaders and teams by helping them to build productive relationships through strong communication skills. Fran teaches a powerful communication technique called Dialogue, and specializes in helping teams to overcome relationship challenges in order to be optimally productive at work. Her team building programs help organizations to thrive in a culture of productive collaboration, respectful communication, personal accountability, and emotional wellness within teams.

Fran is a native of Chicago, and has led teams and projects in the past 25 years for numerous Fortune 500 companies, such as McDonald’s, United Airlines, Fisher-Price and Anheuser-Busch.  Fran now resides in Kennebunk, Maine, and is a proud member of the Maine Chapter of ASTD.

Mary Irace will kick off the session. Comedy is in Mary's blood. Her dad and sister were both television comedy writers. Mary has been doing stand-up comedy at colleges, comedy clubs and benefits all over Maine and New England for years. Drawing her material mostly from her quirky family experiences and numerous careers, Mary's comedy grows out of her rich experience of growing up in Leeds and living and working in rural and urban Maine.
