OVER TIME, NOT OVERNIGHT: 6 STEPS TO DESIGN A RELEVANT & FUTURE-PROOF DEI STRATEGY

Program: It’s Monday morning and your C-Suite leader has asked you to “start the Diversity and Inclusion program” and to bring back a plan in a couple of months that will answer our diversity, equity, and inclusion responsibilities. What do you do? Where do you start?

Fret not, help is on the way!

This is not how you envisioned starting your Monday. But this is also not an uncommon request when leaders think about diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

In this interactive session, learners will hear about real experiences, headache, heartache, and triumph in building DEI strategies as well as the ABCs of creating a multi-year, buildable, and sustainable DEI strategic plan. Learners will jump right in and craft a high-level DEI strategic plan that can incorporate their organizational values and cultural DNA attributes, while embedding some best practices that can enhance the good work that may already be happening.

We will also explore how to gain executive buy-in and sponsorship, formation of an internal diversity council, and the fortitude and patience required for this journey.

After this session, participants will be:

1. Prepared to build a strategic DEI framework that captures the cultural DNA of their organization

2. Equipped to gain stakeholder support and championing

3. Positioned to identify key DEI initiatives that will make impact in their organization

ATD Capability Model This presentation supports capabilities in all three areas: Impacting Organizational Capability, Building Personal Capability, and Developing Professional Capability.
